FAQ's @ the fuelThefuel green

Curious about a raw food diet? Want to know if our menu will meet any dietary requirements or allergens? Our FAQs below have the answers to your commonly asked questions. We want to make your experience at the Fuel positive and welcoming!

  • What is a raw food diet?

Raw food diets can vary, but typically consist of uncooked and unprocessed foods like fresh produce, nuts, and seeds. Some followers of the diet or lifestyle also include fish, dairy, and sprouted grains, but most times raw dishes are plant-based. These foods can be heated up to 118 degrees Fahrenheit to still qualify as raw. At the Fuel, our complete menu offering is 90% raw, 90% organic, gluten free, dairy free, and oil free!

  • What are the benefits of a raw food diet?

When some foods are cooked, enzymes can change, antioxidants and vitamins can be lost, and depending on the degree of heat, carcinogens can be added. Raw food diets can help to reduce your body’s acidity, improve your immune system, and help your body "run" more optimally. Many who make the switch to a raw food diet experience more energy, regulated bowel movements, brighter skin, weight loss, and curbed processed sugar cravings! It's completely safe to follow a raw diet and proven to provide mental benefits as well.

  • What is the difference between a raw food and vegan diet?

Raw food diets can include some animal products, like eggs, fish, and other raw meat. A vegan diet doesn't include any meat or animal byproducts but can include processed food such as gluten and grains. Because of the requirements of each diet, many foods and dishes can fall into both categories. Someone who follows a vegan diet can find plenty of healthy and delicious raw options at the Fuel!

  • Is a raw food diet right for me? How do I make the switch from my current diet?

A raw food diet can be extremely beneficial for many, but isn't always the easiest diet to follow, especially for those that lead a busy or social lifestyle. You can begin to experience what a raw food diet would be like by working raw items into your current diet. Completely changing your diet can be hard, but starting small by making smarter choices throughout your day is easy. At the Fuel, it's our goal to change that and make raw plates, bowls, wraps, salads, snacks, juices, and smoothies more accessible and affordable!

  • Do any foods at the Fuel contain allergens I should know about?

Our menu contains comprehensive descriptions for all of our dishes and drinks! We use fresh produce and unprocessed ingredients, which makes our menu even more clear. If you have any questions or concerns about how your food is prepared or have a specific food allergy, please let our staff know! We would be more than happy to prepare your dish or drink to your specifications.

  • How often is the menu updated?

We update our menu frequently because we like to use what's local, fresh, and seasonal! You can easily check our online menu or simply stop by our eatery in Brighton to see what's new on the menu. We'll always have a unique offering of bowls, wraps, salads, smoothies, and juices.
